A warm hello to all my new friends from the Georgia Romance Writers’ 2012 Moonlight and Magnolias conference. I had a blast, and can’t wait to come back and enjoy all y’all’s hospitality for RWA Nationals next year.
Excuse the mess on the site–I’m in the process of updating, but it’s not finished yet (obviously). In the mean time, you can also find me on Twitter as @j_c_hay. Don’t be a stranger!

Because I needed to have some kind of reason to add to my blog, right?
Sunday, July 3rd, 2011
Thanks for stopping by, all the folks I met at RWA Nationals this year. I’ve got my write up over on the blog as we speak, so stop over and see my thoughts and experiences. And for those of you who didn’t get the chance to meet me in New York, you can still see me on Saturday, July 16th at Rose’s Bookhouse in O’Fallon, MO.

Here I am, rushing about to get ready for RWA Nationals, and I’ve not yet posted my schedule. Along with an army of other authors, I’ll be participating in this year’s Literacy Booksigning, in the Broadway Ballroom of the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square. The signing lasts from 5:30pm to 7:30pm so stop by and say hi!
Reason number 2 to stop by? I’ll have the first set of Romance Trading Cards for Hearts and Minds! I just got them back from the printer, and I think Kim at Hot Damn Designs! outdid herself on these beauties.
Of course, if you can’t make it to the big apple, I understand. You’re in luck, as July 16 I will be signing at Rose’s Bookhouse from noon to 2pm. There’ll be more RTCs than you can shake a stick at, too, since I’ll be there with Sela Carson, Jennifer Jakes, Kimberly Killon, and Annamarie McKenna. I’m flattered to be next to such luminaries, and definitely recommend stopping by.

Yup, I went an entire quarter without posting out here. Not sure how it happened but there’s a new blog post that blames it on Chaucer (or something). If you haven’t been following the news on Twitter (where I’m only slightly more talkative than here, actually) you may not have heard so here’s some news on how to find Little Old (okay, Big Old) Me…
Keeping Up (with) Appearances:
- April 16 will see me signing copies of Impulse Power at the Barnes and Noble in Crestwood, MO. I’ll be the person sitting next to the far more talented Allie Harrison. Don’t have a copy of Impulse Power? They’ll have them for sale!
- I’m returning to RWA Nationals this year, and thrilled beyond measure that I get to hit the Big Apple. I’ll once again be running myself ragged trying to do everything at once, but Nikki Enlow has made me promise to do Karaoke at least one night…
- In July, I’ll be doing another book signing for Impulse Power, this time over at Rose’s Bookhouse. I’ll have more information as the date gets closer.

And just that fast, release day is here for Impulse Power! For all of you who eschew eBooks for whatever reason, you can now get your very own dead-tree edition of my SFR novella Hearts and Minds (and get two other great stories in the process, what a bargain!). Here’s the only link you need: http://samhainpublishing.com/print/impulse-power-print

I’m back, after a long absence, with a little bit of news to share – Hearts and Minds just had a lovely review from the RT book blog, which thrilled me to the core. RT is the big leagues, and getting a four star review from them makes me feel real. Go Team Me.
Actually, that capsule review is a companion to an interview they did with all three of the Impulse Power authors. We’re all charming and witty and terribly clever, so you should pop over here and give it a read.
Keeping up with Appearances
Things have gotten hectic in my non-writerly life, which, to my shame, means I won’t be able to make it out to WFC this year, despite my desire to the contrary. That means if you missed me at RWA, you missed me overall. Sorry for those folks who were looking forward to seeing me. Hopefully, next year will look a little better.

As part of the Out of this World blog tour, I am pleased to host a special guest today. Please swing by the blog to check out a great post from Pauline Baird Jones, author of Girl Gone Nova.

And just like that, it’s over! The fourth and final installment of my serial story Blood Crimes is up over at Paizo’s Pathfinder Tales Web fiction site. I’m pretty happy with the story and have had a lot of fun leaving my mark on the world of Golarion. It’s a great setting for a bit of two-fisted pulpy adventure, and Blood Crimes really let me play with some of the noir and pulp tropes in a high fantasy setting. They’ll have the story up in perpetuity, but for easy picking you’ll be able to find links to each chapter over in my Bibliography.
In other news – don’t forget that this weekend kicks off the big “Out of this World” Blog Tour. I’ll be hosting Pauline Baird Jones (Girl Gone Nova), and will be making the rounds as well. It promises to be a great round of essays, discussing the awesomeness of Science Fiction Romance, and all its permutations. Check it out.
