The SFR Galaxy Awards, 2017

SFR Galaxy Award Winner, 2017This week was the announcement of the SFR Galaxy Awards for 2017. If you’re not familiar, the SFR Galaxy Awards is an annual, multi-award event for science fiction romance books. Launched in 2012 by bloggers Laurie A. Green of Spacefreighters Lounge and Heather Massey of The Galaxy Express, the goal of this event is to honor a variety of standout stories.

It’s a favorite time of year for me, both because I get the opportunity to find new stories I might have missed, but also to celebrate and cheer for my friends and acquaintances who won. This year, for the first time, I’ll be celebrating alongside them – South Seas Salvation was awarded “Best Hacker Heroine.”

This means so much more to me than a cool graphic to add to my book’s page, or the ability to add “award-winning” to my bio. This is a recognition from within our ranks, that just maybe my stories are finding their legs. Without further ado, here are my fellow honorees:
